Rich Halley 4

The Rich Halley 4 is composed of Rich Halley, tenor sax; Michael Vlatkovich, trombone; Clyde Reed, bass; and Carson Halley, drums. This group explores new musical spaces and approaches using the roots of American and world music as sources with an emphasis on spontaneous and compositional group improvisation. Rich has been working with Michael, Clyde and Carson in various combinations for more than a decade. The group has released six widely praised CD's.

The Rich Halley Quartet featuring Bobby Bradford features legendary cornetist Bobby Bradford with Rich Halley, tenor sax; Clyde Reed, bass; and Carson Halley, drums. This group extends the tradition of the original freedom oriented improvisers into the present day while retaining the spirit of discovery. Bobby Bradford is one of the original generation of open structure players from Ornette Coleman's circle. His beautiful sound, imaginative playing and sensitivity in the group makes him makes him a superb collaborator. Rich has been performing with Bobby Bradford for over a decade. This quartet has released two CD's: "Live at the Penofin Jazz Festival" on Pine Eagle Records and "The Blue Rims" on Louie Records.
