The Tap Rack Bang Trio consists of Rich Halley, saxophones; Clyde Reed, bass; and Carson Halley, drums. The original trio was Rich, Clyde and percussionist Dave Storrs. The Trio has released three CD's on Louie Records and Rich and Clyde have been performing together for fifteen years in a variety of settings. The Trio forms the nucleus for the Rich Halley quartets: the Freedom Tradition Quartet with legendary cornetist Bobby Bradford and the Rich Halley 4 with standout trombonist/composer Michael Vlatkovich.



Clyde Reed is a creative music bass stalwart of the Vancouver B.C. scene and an economics professor at Simon Fraser University. Clyde is one of the founders of the NOW Orchestra and has performed with Leo Smith, George Lewis, Barry Guy, Bobby Bradford, Marilyn Crispell, Vinny Golia, Peter Brotzmann and many leading Canadian musicians.

Carson Halley
Carson Halley
Carson Halley is a drummer and percussionist based in Oregon. Carson studied with Bobby Bradford at Pomona College and later began playing with his father. He has eclectic musical tastes and brings contemporary musical sensibilities to the music. Carson has performed with a variety of musicians in jazz and rock groups including Bobby Bradford, Vinny Golia, Shakespeak, The Wayward Trio and Ruby Starfruit.
